In continuation of her efforts to deliver democracy dividends to the nooks and crannies of the local government, the Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Hon. Oyesanya Adetutu Elizabeth, has laid the foundation for the construction of classroom and Headteacher’s office at St. Martin’s Catholic Nursery and Primary School, Ebute-Imobi, founded in 1950.
With about a month to the end of the tenure of the current administration, the council helms-woman assured that the project will be completed. “By the special grace of God, this project will also be completed. The funds need for completion has been accessed one hundred percent, Oyesanya said while laying the foundation on Thursday.
Joined by the Councilor representing Imobi Ward 10, who is also the Chief Whip of the Ijebu East Legislative Council, Hon. (Mrs.) Kemi Aliyu, the Council Chairman said though the population of the school is very small, “we still had to come to the rescue of the school as the structure on ground, built with mud in 1950, was totally gone and it does not make any sense to put anything on it. The structure has totally dilapidated irreversibly. That was why we decided to build a new Classroom from the scratch, completed with Headteacher’s Office.”
“There is no ward in the eleven wards of the local government that our Administration has not touched with quality project. We give glory to God and thank our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and his team at the state level for their leadership and commitment to the development of our local government”, Oyesanya added.
