Renew Hope Grassroot Connect RHGC appoints LGA, LCDA coordinators, youth leaders and women mobilisers to drive Tinubu re-election campaign
The Lagos State Chairman and Coordinator of the Renew Hope Grassroots Connect (RHGC), Alhaji Yusuf Olanrewaju, has vowed to embark on an aggressive grassroots mobilisation campaign across Lagos State for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Olanrewaju made the declaration as the grassroots mobilisation organisation unveiled a new operational structure covering the state's 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas, with coordinators and grassroots mobilisation leaders mandated to take the message of the Tinubu administration directly to the people.
The development was disclosed to journalist in Lagos on Sunday, September 12, 2027, by Ms. Adeola, State Director of Media and Publicity of the Renew Hope Grassroots Connect, a frontline grassroots mobilisation platform aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the organisation, the newly constituted grassroots structure is expected to strengthen community-level mobilisation, political enlightenment and public engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Olanrewaju said the objective was not merely to mobilise voters during the election period but to establish a permanent grassroots communication network capable of explaining government policies, listening to citizens and taking their concerns back to the leadership.
‘We must explain today's sacrifice for tomorrow's prosperity’
Speaking on the economic challenges confronting Nigerians.
Olanrewaju acknowledged that the reforms of the Tinubu administration have brought significant pressure and hardship to ordinary citizens.
However, he described the reforms as necessary economic “surgery” aimed at addressing longstanding structural problems that, if left untreated, could continue to weaken the country's economic foundation.
He urged Nigerians to look beyond the immediate difficulties and consider the long-term benefits of building a stronger, more productive and industrialised nation.
“The reforms and economic surgery may have caused pain and hardship for ordinary Nigerians, but we must understand what is being rebuilt.
“There are moments in the life of a nation when difficult decisions must be taken for the future. If we want our children to inherit a stronger, more productive and industrialised Nigeria, we must be prepared to make sacrifices today for a better tomorrow.”
The RHGC Lagos coordinator said the responsibility of the newly appointed grassroots leaders would therefore include educating citizens on the reasons behind the government's reforms while also ensuring that the concerns of ordinary Nigerians are not ignored.
He stressed that grassroots mobilisation must be based on engagement, persuasion, service and political education, rather than empty political rhetoric.
57 grassroots positions activated across Lagos
Olanrewaju charged the newly appointed coordinators to immediately return to their respective communities and commence grassroots engagement.
He said the coordinators must work closely with community leaders, youth organisations, women groups, market associations, religious bodies, traditional institutions and other community stakeholders.

The RHGC leadership also said the mobilisation structure would place particular emphasis on youth participation and women's involvement in the 2027 political process.
Olanrewaju urged the youth and women mobilisation teams to develop community-based programmes capable of engaging young Nigerians, women entrepreneurs, professionals, market women and other groups whose participation, he said, would be critical to the success of the grassroots campaign.
He said the campaign would focus on communicating the administration's policies on infrastructure, economic reforms, industrial development, financial inclusion, employment opportunities and other areas affecting ordinary Nigerians.
According to him, the grassroots must understand both the challenges and opportunities associated with the present economic transition.
“We must go to the people. We must listen to them, understand their pain and explain the direction of the country.
“Our children deserve a Nigeria that is economically stronger and industrially productive. The little hardship we are experiencing today must be placed within the larger picture of what we are trying to achieve for the future.”
The RHGC coordinator further warned the newly appointed officers against treating their positions as political titles without corresponding responsibilities.
He charged them to be visible in their communities, maintain regular contact with the people and ensure that the organisation's message reaches the grassroots.
He also urged the coordinators to avoid internal rivalry and personal interests, stressing that the success of the mobilisation structure would depend on teamwork and discipline.
Olanrewaju said the coordinators must become the bridge between the people and the political leadership.
He added that the organisation would continue to expand its grassroots engagement in the months leading to the 2027 election.
The Lagos RHGC chairman maintained that the organisation's ultimate objective is to mobilise massive grassroots support for President Tinubu's re-election and sustain what he described as the administration's ongoing efforts towards economic transformation and the emergence of a more industrialised Nigeria.
He called on members of the newly inaugurated structure to begin work immediately, insisting that the 2027 election campaign would be won not only through political rallies but through consistent grassroots engagement and direct contact with the people.
“The election is still ahead, but the work starts now.
We cannot wait until 2027 before we begin talking to our people.
“We are going to every ward, every community, every market, every youth group and every women's group. We will explain, listen and mobilise.
“Our message is continuity, development and a better Nigeria for the next generation.”
With the activation of the new grassroots structure, the Renew Hope Grassroots Connect is positioning itself for what its leadership describes as an unprecedented grassroots mobilisation drive across Lagos State ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
