ADC Condemns Arson Attack on Ekiti Secretariat, Calls on Security Agencies to Act Swiftly

The *African Democratic Congress (ADC)* has strongly condemned the *burning of its Ekiti State Party Secretariat*, describing the act as a cowardly assault on democracy, national unity, and the fundamental right to political participation.

The party said the attack, carried out in the early hours of today, was the *handiwork of those threatened by the rising momentum* and formidable organisational structure that the Ekiti ADC has continued to build.

This *cowardly and barbaric* act is a direct *attack on the values of democracy and peaceful political engagement,* the statement read. While our secretariat may have been set ablaze, *our spirit remains unbroken and our vision unstoppable.* The formidable *Ekiti State ADC has come to stay*.

The ADC called on all *security agencies including the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)* to immediately launch a full investigation into the incident, *apprehend the perpetrators, and bring them to justice.*

We view this incident not just as an attack on our party, but as a *threat to national peace, democracy*, and the freedom of association guaranteed by the Constitution. The ADC will not be intimidated or silenced by acts of violence.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to peace, justice, and unity, especially as the *Ekiti ADC prepares for its Reconfiguration and Affirmation Ceremony* encompassing Ward, Local Government, Senatorial District, and State Executives.

*We stand stronger, more united, and more determined than ever* to defend democracy and serve the people, the statement concluded.
