Ogun State New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP, House of Representative candidate, Rasaq Segun Shofowora, have sent congratulatory message to the winner of bye election, Remo Federal Constituency, Hon Adesola Elegbeji, APC candidate.
In a release sent to us, he said no one receives except God giveth and as such, it doesn't matter again how it happened.
Shofowora further said " We all understand that no election is free and fair in the whole world but we expected a certain level of decorum and decency from the present government and the ruling party so that the people at large can have a better perception.
"The intimidation, threat and harassment and naked corruption via the act of vote buying was too much. The process was a selection and not an election".
NNPP candidate added that the election is an eye opener to all levels of government. The hunger in the land is much and he pray the government to do more to ensure the citizens have access to basic amenities such as food and good roads
He said "I write to congratulate the victory of Hon. Elegbeji in the last bye election.
"Aside the intimidation, humiliation and unwarranted threat from the ruling party, the electorates forgot about dignity and sold their conscience. An average vote was being bought between N10k to N30k per voter..the slogan was ' DIBO KO SEBE".
"What matter most now is peace and progress. We must all rally round the elected MHR towards optimal performance and service delivery. Our constituency needs attention and the Representative has a lot to do. To whom much is given, much is expected".
