This is where ADC got finished legally - *2 separate court orders banned their convention*. Here is chronological:
*ORDER 1 - CONVENTION HALTED*
*Suit No:* *FHC/ABJ/CS/581/2026*
*Plaintiffs:* 7 state chairmen - Don Norman Obinna (Imo), Johnny Tovie Derek, Obah Ehigiator, Olona Yinka, Charles Omideji, Samuel Pam Gyang, Obianyo Patrick - suing for themselves and *all 36 state chairmen + FCT + SECs*
*Defendants:*
1. ADC
2. David Mark
3. Patricia Akwashiki
4. Bolaji Abdullahi (Spokesman)
5. Rauf Aregbesola
6. Prof Osunbor
7. INEC
*Judge:* *Justice J.O. Abdulmalik* - Federal High Court Abuja
*Order Date:* *April 14, 2026*
*Order:*
> "All parties shall maintain status quo ante bellum and shall not take further steps so as not to render nugatory proceedings before the court."
Meaning: *No convention, no congress, no caretaker appointment.*
*April 23, 2026* - Adjourned for hearing.
*But Mark-led ADC disobeyed.* They went ahead and held state congresses + national convention July 2025.
*ORDER 2 - CONVENTION NULLIFIED*
*Suit No:* Same *FHC/ABJ/CS/581/2026* - judgment by Justice Abdulmalik April 29, 2026:
*Judgment:*
- Tenure of elected state working committees still valid and subsisting
- Caretaker / interim NWC led by Mark has *no power* to organize state congresses
- *Restrains INEC* from recognizing or monitoring any congress organized by Mark-led leadership
- All state congresses + national convention conducted by Mark = *null and void*
*Appeal:* Mark appealed - Appeal No *CA/ABJ/CV/608/2026*
*Court of Appeal Judgment - Upholds Nullification:*
- Appeal dismissed
- State congresses and national convention conducted while April 14 order subsisted are *set aside and nullified*
- Court: "Court orders must be obeyed while they remain in force"
- *N10 million cost* awarded against ADC in favour of state chairmen
*ORDER 3 - RELATED LEADERSHIP SUIT*
*Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/1819/2025* - Nafiu Bala vs Mark
- Sept 4, 2025 Justice Nwite refused ex parte to stop convention, but ordered Mark to show cause
- Bala filed another ex parte Dec 15 to stop convention - refused again by Nwite Feb 3, 2026 (said all parties already before court)
- That suit is still pending before *Justice Peter Lifu* - next date Oct 5, 2026
*ORDER 4 - DEREGISTRATION + STAY*
*Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/2637/2026* - Forum of Former Legislators vs INEC
- June 15, 2026 Justice Lifu ordered *deregister ADC, Accord, AA, APP, ZLP*
- ADC appealed CA/ABJ/CV/569/2026
- Court of Appeal June 16, 2026 *stayed execution* pending appeal
- Hearing of appeal fixed *Oct 27, 2026 - TODAY*
*LEGAL EFFECT TODAY Oct 27:*
1. ADC convention that produced Mark + Aregbesola has been *nullified by 2 courts* (High Court + Appeal Court)
2. Yet INEC currently *recognizes Mark* because Supreme Court vacated status quo ante bellum order in Bala suit - creating confusion
3. Deregistration order is on *stay* till appeal heard today
4. So ADC is legally alive on paper but its national convention is legally void
*For NDC:* If ADC convention is void, then any candidate who emerged from that void convention (including any Ogun ADC candidates) is void. That is why your NDC defectors May 3 may be safe - they left a party whose convention was already under court ban.
