Former Kwara PDP Chairman Joins ADC, Declares Party “Nigeria’s New Hope

The immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, North Central Nigeria, *Rt. Hon. Babatunde Mohammed,* has officially resigned from the PDP and joined the *African Democratic Congress (ADC).*

In a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of *Agunjin Ward, Ifelodun Local Government Area,* Mohammed stated that his decision to leave the PDP was based on personal reasons after *over two decades of dedicated service* to the party.

Even though the reasons I dumped the PDP are personal, I have been a loyal member of the party for the past 22 years. When many leaders left for the APC, I chose to remain in the PDP. But as I speak, *I have now joined the ADC. There is no hope left in the PDP. The ADC is now my party,*

Mohammed, who served as *Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly between 2009 and 2011*, expressed appreciation to the PDP leadership, stakeholders, and members for their support throughout his tenure as State Chairman.

I joined the PDP in 2002 and remained committed for *23 years* without leaving for a single day. I sincerely thank all members and leaders for their cooperation, especially during my time as State Chairman, he added.

The *African Democratic Congress (ADC)* welcomes *Rt. Hon. Babatunde Mohammed* into its fold, describing his move as a *significant boost to the party’s growing influence in the North Central region* ahead of the 2027 elections.
