Ilese Day 2025 Set to Shake Ogun as Organisers Roll Out Power-Packed Week of Culture, Carnival and Community Impact*

The organisers of Ilese Day 2025 have raised the bar of community celebration with a festival lineup that combines tradition, talent, and transformation. Set to hold from August 3rd to 9th, this year’s edition is already being hailed as the most ambitious and people-focused in recent history.

From spiritual thanksgiving to sporting contests, free health services, cultural displays, youth empowerment seminars, and entertainment extravaganzas, Ilese Day 2025 is a week-long symphony of progress and pride.

The Ilese Development Council, in collaboration with key partners such as Kaldeen Foundation, Catland Microfinance Bank, Eye Foundation Hospital Group, and others, is championing an inclusive celebration that touches on health, enterprise, tradition, and entertainment.

Activities begin Sunday, August 3, with a church service, before shifting to the football pitch for semi-final and final matches at Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences.

By Thursday, a major community boost arrives via free medical check-ups, eye tests, and a Baby Show, bringing health services directly to the people. On the same day, the Annual Enterprise Development Seminar targets youth and entrepreneurs with practical knowledge for economic upliftment.

Friday’s Marathon Race will shut down major Ijebu routes as residents and athletes compete in a symbolic show of fitness and unity.

Saturday, August 9, is the crown jewel — a grand carnival celebration at the Polytechnic grounds, followed by a Gala Night at Moslem Primary School Playground. The festival will close on a high note with Fuji star Alhaji Alamu Tiri Leather (Olubadan Fuji) lighting up the stage for what is expected to be a thrilling musical showdown.

Also on the bill: the Ikokore Cooking Competition, the glamorous Miss Ilese 2025 Pageant, and the traditional Woro dance, ensuring the town's rich heritage is on full display.

According to event planners, this year’s edition is more than festivity. “We’ve designed Ilese Day 2025 as a total package — it celebrates our roots, promotes our health, empowers our youth, and entertains our people. It’s Ilese’s moment to shine,” said a spokesperson for the planning committee.

With logistics in place and excitement building, Ilese Day 2025 is set to become the cultural and social highlight of the year in Ogun State — a celebration not to be missed.
